01Do I need an account?+
No. There is no sign-up, no login, and nothing to remember. Everything stays on your phone.
02Where do the expiration dates come from?+
If you enter a date from the package, the app uses it and never overwrites it. If you skip the date, the app estimates one from a shelf-life table. Any estimate can be corrected, and the app remembers your correction for that food the next time you buy it.
03Why does a price say “est.”?+
If you didn't enter a price, a typical price for that kind of food stands in, labelled as an estimate. Settings > Update Cost is where you replace estimates with what you actually paid, whenever you feel like it.
04A barcode scan didn't find my product.+
Not every product is in the database. When a scan comes up empty, the app drops you into manual entry with the barcode already attached, so it's remembered for next time.
05How do I get my data out?+
Settings > Export a Backup writes a single file with your whole kitchen in it. Save it wherever you like. Restore works from the same screen.
06The app quit on its own.+
Sorry about that. Settings > Report a Problem explains how to send the crash report, and an email with roughly what you were doing at the time helps more than you'd think.
Nothing uploaded.
No account, no analytics, nothing uploaded. The one network request the app ever makes is a barcode lookup, and it contains only the barcode number. The full policy is short and worth the minute.
