01Do I need an account?+
No. There is no Fridge Forecast sign-up or login. Your kitchen starts on your phone; optional Household Sharing uses your own iCloud.
02Where do the expiration dates come from?+
If you enter a date from the package, the app uses it and never overwrites it. If you skip the date, the app estimates one from a shelf-life table. Any estimate can be corrected, and the app remembers your correction for that food the next time you buy it.
03Why does a price say “est.”?+
If you didn't enter a price, a typical price for that kind of food stands in, labelled as an estimate. Settings > Update Cost is where you replace estimates with what you actually paid, whenever you feel like it.
04A barcode scan didn't find my product.+
Not every product is in the database. When a scan comes up empty, the app drops you into manual entry with the barcode already attached, so it's remembered for next time.
05How do I get my data out?+
Settings > Export a Backup writes a single file with your whole kitchen in it. Save it wherever you like. Restore works from the same screen.
06The app quit on its own.+
Sorry about that. iPhone can pass the crash report along for you: Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Share With App Developers. If you also tell me roughly what you were doing at the time, that helps more than you'd think.
07Something went wrong and the app is still running.+
Settings > Report a Problem > Create Support Report writes a text file describing your app version, device, settings and recent activity, with no food names unless you switch them on. Email it to support@fridgeforecast.com with a sentence about what happened.
Nothing sent to us.
No Fridge Forecast account, no analytics, and no server of ours. Barcode lookup sends only the barcode number to Open Food Facts. Optional Household Sharing uses your own iCloud. The full policy is short and worth the minute.
